A little accident.

Today I am going to share with you a very real story of an event I witnessed many many years ago. The story involves a young boy and a young girl who were in the same class at school.

The young boy was sitting at his desk concentrating on what he was doing when the worst thing that could ever happened came about. With no time to do anything about it the young boy had a terrible accident. There on the floor just under him there was a puddle and the front of his trousers had a large wet patch.

The young boy thinks that his world has come to an end. He just cannot imagine how this has happened to him but he can imagine the outcome. When the other boys find out he will never hear the end of it, he will no doubt be given a nickname and will face all sorts of taunts for ages to come maybe forever.

When the girls find out, they will never speak to him again for as long as he lives. The boy is in utter despair. His head sinks to his desk and he just does not know what to do. He is alone there is nobody to help him. Anytime now he will be found out and that will be it.

He looks up and he sees the teacher heading his way. She seems to have a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.

Just at that moment a classmate called Susan is walking up between the desk carrying a vase of flowers she is going to place on the window sill. Just before the teacher draws level with the boy Susan trips and pours the vase of water all over his lap.

The boy jumps up and pretend to be upset and angry all the time saying to himself, than you, thank you.

Now instead of being the object of ridicule he is the object of great sympathy. The teacher takes him to the PE department and they sort out a pair of shorts for him to wear until his trousers have dried on the radiator.

When he returns to the class the other students are busy drying the floor and cleaning up Susan's mess. Susan tries to help but is told to keep out of the way she is told she has done enough trouble for one day.

At the end of the day the boy is walking home and he sees Susan with some of her friends. He catches up with her and whispers to her, "You did that on purpose, did you not?"

Susan whispers back, "I wet my pants once."

All of us go through good and bad times in our lives. We should all remember how we felt when things were not so good and should never mock others in similar situations.

There are always times in life when we too will be grateful for a little helping hand and an act of kindness. It is more likely to happen if have been the kind of person that does likewise.

Have a wonderful day.
