The Board-game of life.

My latest.

I had a canvas with a painting I was unhappy with that already contained some texture so I decided it was time to get the paint back out and see if it was a lost cause.

returning to real paint made for an interesting day. It meant that my normal early morning walk was put on hold and I hoped to do a walk later in the day. Painting can be is a total commitment thing as far as I am concerned, So while waiting for paint to dry enough to progress I do other things to fill my mind.

I do a cryptic crossword, or I do an online jigsaw. Yes, I do.  Yesterday I did both of those and because when I had promised to walk with my good friend it decided to rain I spent time with him and we played a board-game. getting old indeed.

I remembered the famous person who decided to do a jigsaw puzzle. After much struggle and time, he managed to complete the said puzzle. He was so excited he raced through to his wife saying he had completed the puzzle in two weeks. His wife looked at him wondering why this was so amazing. He told her that on the box it said for three to four months.

I at least finished mine in a lot less time.

To the board-game. We played a game called sequence, sometimes known as jacks. After having played I thought that board-games are like life.

Think about it.

In a board game, you’re always trying to advance your playing piece, regardless of whether you’re playing Life, Ludo, or Monopoly.

You’re on your way somewhere.  Sometimes you draw a card and have twins or get stuck in  Swamp or land in Jail and other times, in somebody else's space.

Sometimes you draw a “Get Out of Jail Free” card and other times you land on “Go Straight to Jail.”

Sometimes you roll or spin your best effort and you advance 6 spaces and you celebrate.

Other times, you give it your best try and advance 6 spaces, only to discover that you’ve got to go back 20 spaces.

Life is like a board-game.  Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense.  But yet, we keep playing, do we not?

I suppose that is because we’re all going somewhere and will get there one day.

Since life is like a board game, as you’re going somewhere, choose positive people as your travelling companions so that together you will conceive a positive life.

Make a positive life in what can often seem a  negative world.

Have a marvellous day and do not get, "Bored" get a "Board-game."
