Change Can Be a Good Thing.

There is something nice about seeing things being changed for the good.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
― Lao Tzu

Two things that brought to mind the joy of things changing was first this old army wagon. It was sitting at the side of the road outside the last site I was on. It obviously dated back to war times but the present owner was in the process of restoring it and lovingly bringing a new meaning to its existence.

I am not usually one to paint the accoutrements of war but on this occasion I just could not resist.

The second thing that made me stop and consider this topic is the restored Norman Benedictine Monastery just a few miles down the road from where I now am.

During the war it was taken over and used as a training centre for training tank drivers. World apart from its original use as a place of prayer and meditation.

Now almost completely restored it back and being used for its original purpose and creative arts are being produced by those who live there.

Sadly not all things go this way.

I was reminded of the  story of the angry girl driver.

An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy street. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him.
He did the right thing, stopping at the junction, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.
The tailgating woman hit the roof, and the horn, screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car. He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed, and placed in a holding cell.
After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.
He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake.
You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, swearing the guy in front of you, and making all sorts of rude gestures.
"I noticed the 'Choose Life' sticker on the window, the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Church' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the boot.
Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."
Just a thought, "We can all change but not always for the better and what some people say they are is not what their actions tell us they are.
Have a great day. Not sure just when I will be free to post again might be at least two days. I have a ferry crossing and a long journey through England and half of Scotland in front of me in the next two days or so.
