Janus, Looking Back and Forward.

A Happy new year to all my friends who take the time to read this blog. Thanks to those who have been so kind about it over the year now gone. I hope today finds you all well and ready to meet a new day a new month and a new year.

It so often is a time to look back and wonder how we might have made it better or avoided the mistakes we have made. But remember they have now gone and there is very little that can be done about them good or bad., except learn.

It is a new day. Let us begin there and leave the new week, the new month and new year until they all become today. Because the reality is that it is only today we can do very much about. We can live it to the full.

As we start can I try to start it with a little smile, always a good way to begin anything.

A married couple had been out shopping for most of the day. Suddenly the wife realised that her husband had "disappeared". Somewhat irate she called her husband's mobile and demanded, "Where are you?"

The husband answered, "Darling, do you remember that little jewellery shop where you saw that beautiful diamond necklace and totally fell in love with it but I didn't have the money at that time and I said, "Darling it'll be yours one day."

Wife, tremulously responded, "Yes, I do remember that my love."

"Well, I'm in the Pub next to that shop."

And as the time moved on in that same pub.

Marilyn the barmaid stood up and said that it was time to get ready. At the stroke of midnight, she wanted every husband to be standing next to the one person who made his life worth living.

Well, it was kind of embarrassing.

As the clock struck - the bartender was almost crushed to death.

Midnight has come and gone and I hope we are all looking forward with a smile on our face and joy in our hearts.

A Happy New Year to all.
