We have lived in our new house for one year now, by that I mean the house is new to us. When we moved here we were aware that there were things that would have to be done. New carpets would have to be purchased and all of the rooms would need to be painted.
We had to prioritise what would be done and when. The last thing on the list was the bathroom. It was far from what we would want it to be but we could live with it for a while, and we have. It is now beginning to show its age and big changes need to be made and soon.
Thinking about this reminded me of a humorous story that has a real message within it.
The story is about an event that could happen to anybody.
The young couple were getting ready to make a visit and they were running tight on time. The wife is just finishing having her shower. The husband is standing waiting to get into the shower as soon as she gets out.
Just as she gets out of the shower the doorbell rings. The wife wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.
When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next door neighbour. Before she says a word, Bob says, “I’ll give you £500 to drop that towel.”
After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob.
Bob true to his promise, hands her £500 and leaves.
The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.
When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, "Who was that at the door?"
“It was Bob from next door ,” she replies.
“Great!” the husband says, “Did he say anything about the £500 he owes me?”
The moral of the story?
If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your loved one in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.
Or beware of keeping secrets because you are sure to be exposed.
Have a good day start it with a smile even if that is all you have.
